I am a freshman at Missouri southern. Math is my favorite course hands down. Its not very difficult for me. I would prefer to tutor elementary and junior high students, but will also work with highschool kids too. I am majoring in physical education so this really could help me out in my field. A Little Bit About Me...

I love math, but I am a Chemistry major at MSSU because i didn't find any attractive career as a Mathematician. I tutor a lot, mostly to y friends. I can help in pretty much any general subject like math, philosophy, drawing, painting, geography, and some English as well. Geometry is one of my top subjects! Geometry, Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, anything and everything related to and/or correlating in any way to mathematics is not only on my "top subjects" list, it's on my list of expertise. It has been this way as long as I can remember. Teachers would almost always put me by the student that was struggling most so I could help them, so I've really been tutoring most of my life in this. I absolutely loved it, and love it still. ..Especially when you correct a math teacher, which I've done in every math class I've ever had, less one, because they seem to love it. I assume they are excited to find a student actually as excited about the subject as they are.

I have completed my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting, which I received in 2007 at ATU. I have over seven years working in a CPA firm where I have been well versed in every aspect of the public accounting field hands on and am very well versed in operations thereof.
The teaching style I use is solely dependent on the learning style of the student I am teaching. Helping Dispel the Fear of Math

I use a variety of methods such as graphically (visual), practice examples (tactile, repetition), repeating the rules/methods (aural) and occasional humor to help things stick!
I recently moved here from California. I have tutored fellow students in high school in Rhode Island, a child, grandchildren, and also tutored folks in California ranging in age from 13-30 in all types of math during the last ten years. Though I do not have a certificate, I plan on getting a temporary certificate in the next few months.

My goal in teaching is to provide the student with the tools to discover and learn new concepts and to apply this knowledge to the learning process. I do not beleive in giving answers, but rather helping the student learn how to find the answers. I am very patient and will go over a concept until it is understood by the student. I enjoy children who are eager to learn, but try to instill a desire to acheive.
As an administrator of a school I oversaw the education of children from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. I have eight years experience teaching algebra I, five years teaching business math. A Little Bit About Me...

I have enjoyed substitute teaching since 1991; it was a part- time occupation that worked well as I re-entered the college scene in order to advance my AA degree to a BA in Political Science. Life and destiny urged me to earn a teacher's certification in Texas, where I later worked as an ESL 4th-5th grade teacher in the Waco (Texas) Independent School District for three years. A move to Kentucky to be closer to my aging mother resulted in six years of working as the Adair County School District's Gifted and Talented Coordinator and ESL/ELL Coordinator.
