Hello! Thank you for your time. In the summer of 2002, I tutored children from ages 6-12 years at an educational camp. I usually tutor young adults, focusing on conversational English, as well as grammar and writing. In addition, I am an editor/consultant for many professionals in writing composition, speeches and presentations, and editing documents. Diverse background with ability to adapt learning

I have always been a very curious and academic person. I love to learn and like to pass that on to my students. It makes it easier because I have really lived a lot of the things I teach. I grew up in a small town in Idaho and excelled in both my Math and Science classes. At 16 I decided I needed to see the world so I moved to Argentina as an exchange student. I spent a year learning both the culture and language of the country. I was able to travel a lot and really felt like a member of their society. I returned and finished my senior year of high school. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style with my own children is conversational, hands-on, and intuitive. I explore what most captures their attention, then weave in the lessons by using any available teaching aids, such as whiteboard drawings, to illustrate a point, literally.
My German parents spoke (so-called "high", or proper) German at home in NY/NJ, which came in handy after we moved overseas when I was 13. Repeating 7th grade, I learned to read and write German fluently, as well as master the local dialects and sundry colloquialisms without a lingering accent. Doing so allowed me mask my heritage, enroll in higher education, and learn a trade, culminating in a long and rewarding all-encompassing painting career abroad and in the eastern US, before settling in Texas to explore telecommunications.
