A Little Bit About Me...

Following the birth of my third child, I taught at her pre-school and caught the teaching "bug". I then completed a graduate program in Elementary Education, taught for one year in the public school system in Florida and then taught for one year in Alabama. I have the ability to help children struggling in reading to make great strides and as a result, gain the self-confidence to do well in school. The key to good teaching is adaptability. First and foremost I believe that every individual can learn but we all have different learning styles. Some individuals may learn better using visual learning, others process information better from aural input. I believe in both problem-based learning using hands-on application but also realize that skills such as reading and literacy require some more traditional methods such as phonics approaches to reading. A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a bachelor degree in Middle School Level Education, with focus on English. For the last five years I have taught at the middle school level.
