I have an Associate Degree in Mathematics from Porterville College. GPA of 3.8. Working towards Computer Engineering Major at California State University Bakersfield.I have tutor some of my fellow friends from my Calculus and Physics class. For the las year I have been a substitute teacher for the Tulare Joint Union High School District. Although I have subbed for many subjects, I specialize in both math and sciences. While pursuing my Master's degree, I taught several sections on Civil Engineering principles. I also held office hours to tutor students in any other classwork where they were in need of assistance. Subjects ranges from physics to structural mechanics to hydrology to fluid mechanics.
My teaching style is perhaps not as Socratic as I would prefer. I first elucidate the principles being considered, and then use a practical means to illustrate and work with that principle. I like to have the student learn to derive what is being taught for themselves. That way the material will stay with them. Grounding the material being learned in some real-life experience makes knowledge meaningful and useful. That is what I endeavor to achieve.
