A Little Bit About Me...

My style is relaxed. Many students appear frightened of math at first. I cover each subject well, allowing students to ask many questions. I encourage students to work problems while I watch, so I can catch them at the moment they make a mistake. I love teaching students of all ages, in basic math, algebra, statistics, and calculus. I have gotten feedback from students, indicating how much they appreciated my instruction... living for seeing the light come on in a student's eyes.
As a psychology major, at the beginning of my education, I discovered that I had a love and talent for mathematics. Thus I pursued a dual degree in Psychology and Math. Education has always been my passion. While earning my Bachelor's degree at the University of California, Santa Cruz, I was approached by a professor and asked to work as a teaching assistant with her graduate (M.A. and Ph.D. level) students. I was concurrently hired as a tutor and supplemental instructor for math, economics, and business courses. While working towards my M.B.A at Humboldt State, I taught numerous courses in the business discipline. I'm now an associate faculty member at College of the Redwoods teaching business technology courses.
While at Humboldt State, I completed the College Faculty Preparation Program. This program significantly improved my teaching pedagogy.
