A Little Bit About Me...

As a high school student, I was very active in extracurricular activities. I participated in the rotary club, volunteering at local soup kitchens. I was also a member of the Newspaper, Quiz Bowl, Robotics Team, soccer and baseball throughout my high school career. Through volunteering at the Boys and Girls club, I was turned out to tutoring students in Algebra and Trigonometry. I spent my Junior and Senior year tutoring students in these areas of mathematics.
I think that in today's public education system, with ever-growing class sizes some students get thrown to the wayside. These students need a more personalized learning plan that offers them head-to-head or small group discussions. As the founder and president of UNCA French club 2008 until 2010 I enjoy helping others with the French language. I am also a member of Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor society's chapter at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I now hold a bachelor degree from UNCA with a major in French language. This language experience makes me a capable instructor of English as well as French.
I believe that the best way to learn is by repetition and not being afraid to make mistakes. This is especially important in language acquisition as many students are afraid of making pronunciation errors.
