A Little Bit About Me...

I think that in today's public education system, with ever-growing class sizes some students get thrown to the wayside. These students need a more personalized learning plan that offers them head-to-head or small group discussions. I can relate to the child who remains silent because he doesn't think his question is smart enough. Subsequently, that child starts getting left behind little by little until they feel completely lost and abandoned and become disillusioned with the whole education system. My hope is to convince some of these children that they can make their educations work for them and maybe even become the child in class that begins to want to help others learn and grow.

A Little Bit About Me...

As the founder and president of UNCA French club 2008 until 2010 I enjoy helping others with the French language. I am also a member of Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor society's chapter at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I now hold a bachelor degree from UNCA with a major in French language. This language experience makes me a capable instructor of English as well as French.
I believe that the best way to learn is by repetition and not being afraid to make mistakes. This is especially important in language acquisition as many students are afraid of making pronunciation errors. I studied Art History at Florida State University, which required a number of essay and extensive seminar classes, which taught me different ways to complete 10-20 page papers. I have worked teaching children in many different environments, in a preschool, Boys and Girls club, and at their homes. I have worked with children all ages from one to fifteen, with language and basic math skills.
