Teaching is my calling. I devote my time to helping students of all ages and ability levels understand mathematics. I plan to take a pre-assessment and see what the student needs the most help in. I then devote the time needed to that area and continue to give hints and utilize techniques so that the student understands the material better. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate of Marywood University 2010 with a degree in Mathematics/Secondary Education. For two years I participated in an Academic Excellence program at Marywood. My position was a math tutor at a "drop-in" center. It was here that my peers could come at anytime to be tutored in any mathematics subject. I recently completed a semester of student teaching at Valley View High School, where I taught 9th grade algebra and 10th grade geometry, and at Dunmore Middle School, where I taught 8th grade algebra and pre-algebra. I successfully completed both.

I have valued teaching since I was in elementary school. I believe that a teacher has one of the most important professions, as they teach and guide the future of our country. Since I realized my continued success in not only learning mathematics, but being able to teach others that did not understand mathematics, I decided that teaching was the right path for me. I take pride in discerning each student's learning style and then teaching them in the most effective manner. I am a firm believer that all people are teachable, and that no real method is ultimately the best, but that the approach should be tailored to what the student is good at.
I have three degrees, Masters in Biochemistry, B.A. in Biology, and an Associates Degree in Business Administration. My love of mathematics began while I was in elementary school--I looked forward to those classes and took as many as I could from my high school, Wyoming Area. I had, at one point in middle school, helped to tutor some students in one of my classes. While in college at Susquehanna University, I had the priveledge of tutoring pre-calculus to local Selinsgrove High School students. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to share my passion for math with others. I believe anyone can comprehend math if given the right tools--learning math is like building a pyramid, you need the base to get to the top, and that is what I try to do, help these students grasp a solid base understanding of the topic.
