While working in a very prestigious school in Quito, I was granted a scholarship as an exchange teacher in the United States with the AFS visiting teacher program, and it was the best experience in my life. My job was to teach Spanish to High School students and visit other school to talk about my country and culture. After my return from the United States, I decided to go abroad again to study. I went to Italy and became a simultaneous translator in English, Spanish and Italian. While studying, I was given a job as an English teacher. Making languages fun and easy!

Have been tutoring in languages since I mastered English myself. I am a native Spanish speaker born and raised in Ecuador then moved to the US to continue school and graduate high school. I attended a university in Ecuador for a year and all through high school took French as my alternative language course. I took a national French exam to see the ranking I was in and ranked 8th in the whole US.
I like personal relationships, first I evaluate your level of knowledge in three categories speaking, writing, reading/comprehension and based on that we will work on your strong points first to perfect them and then move on to the weaker areas.

My comments on tutoring Spanish : I minored in Spanish in College. I can teach the basics all the way up to Spanish III.

My teaching philosophy starts out with essentialism which believes in a strong core curriculum and high academic standards. I believe it is important to have a strong foundation on which to build upon. After ensuring a strong foundation I tend to lean more towards progressivism. I believe students should be taught what is relevant today while becoming more independent learners, by utilizing problem solving skills and critical thinking. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved children. Children are precious and all have very unique learning techniques. When I was a senior at Maryville High School, I taught Spanish to first graders. My partner and I were in charge of making lesson plans and fulfilling these plans for each class. I really enjoyed seeing the children get excited about learning.
