My teaching style differs with each child. One child does well learning by applying the material to real live situations Another does better with breaking it down and just memorizing facts I am very flexible and make an effort to find the best method to save both myself and the child time that would otherwise be wasted with an ineffective approach to learning.
Although I wish I could count the endless amount of time I spent playing teacher as a child, I know parents are looking for more expierence than an eight year old and her dolls. My comments on tutoring Spelling : I just finished my first year at CWI and am currently taking English 102 - took predominately English, editing, computer, marketing, and math classes. I also home schooled my children for ten years, was a teacher's assistant for six years in elementary schools, and taught first grade in a small private school last year.
