My comments on tutoring GED : I have a certificate to teach GED and have taught teachers how to teach the skills. Over 100 students have taken this program with me and have successfully met his/her goal of achieving a GED certificate.

I believe in humor, fun, clear organization, and associated evaluation. I believe in preparing the student for life-long learning because learning is a pleasure, not a chore.
An experienced teacher K-12, teaching reading, vocabulary, grammar, study skills, comprehension, math and science at one of St.Louis' local districts who moved on to teach at St. Louis Community College yet remains devoted to personal learning and learning projects. My first teaching experience was as a high school senior where I was given the opportunity to teach a small group of 5th graders as part of the Missouri A+ program. We began with division, quickly moving into linear and nonlinear algebra, before touching on the fundamentals of complex numbers, graph theory and trigonometry, before concluding with a derivation of the quadratic formula and its applications. I spent three semesters as the academic chair for my fraternity enforcing study hours for fraternity brothers with lower GPA’s; tutoring students in algebra, calculus, physics, and computer science, among other fields. I fit my teaching style to the student's learning style. I try to follow the model of my physics advisor, who has an excellent ability to figure out how a student learns best, then adapt his teaching and explanations accordingly. Students are often closer to understanding than they realize, and a different presentation can make a huge difference. I work to improve weak areas and capitalize on strengths for each student. I keep things relaxed, but focused; and I make sure to work through the material with my students, moving on when they are ready. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted to teach Math and Science. I have volunteered tutored on and off for five years for friends and family. I have a BS in Chemistry and have worked as a Chemist for 13 years. I currently am working as an accountant. I enjoy formulas and showing my students how everything comes togeher.
