I really like to tailor my style to each student. I also believe that when it comes to math, students often need as much help getting over their fear of math as they do with the actual concepts. I have had good experience designing science experiments and hands-on projects to help demonstrate science concepts and bring these concepts to life. I was fortunate enough to have excellent role models and caring teachers throughout my childhood and would like to pass on the attention that was shown to me.

I have had experience teaching that is inquiry-based but have also taught in a more factual style with lecture. I believe that each student has a different style of learning, and I am more than willing to adapt to the child. It is crucial for students to understand all the fundamentals of education, so that higher levels (college) of education will be obtained. I always make sure the student understands the material every step of the way so that they will not fall behind. I also believe that the student must take what they learn and apply it. I also believe that by excelling in certain areas of school and improving, this will give a higher confidence to the students that will be apparent in all areas of school.

A Little Bit About Me...

During the Spring of 2010, I taught Freshman chemistry at Pima Community College. I held after class work sessions at a volunteer basis that was at a time convenient to the majority of the class. I taught Organic Chemistry (Chem 236) at Pima CC. I had students go to the blackboard and work out and illustrate selected problems, as a review after tests. Other teaching experience is available upon request.
From USDA-ARS July 2006 to September 2008, at the United States Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service, I performed research on crop pollination that led to several peer-reviewed publications and US patent pending for integrated pest management.
