My style of teaching/tutoring involves one on one and small group sessions. I feel we work from using the student’s strengths to build math vocabulary, math concepts, math relationships, developing math knowledge and algorithmic skills. I want the students to feel comfortable communicating using math to get help. I strongly believe that to understand math you have to put forth effort to try and do math. I want the learning environment to be relaxed and comfortable. Depending on what type of math and the concepts that need help different tutoring techniques will be used such as: building relationship, hands-on activities, and interactive virtual manipulatives. I am a senior in high school. I have taken a range of different classes and I am able to help students understand what is being taught. I helped many of my friends get better grades so that can graduate with a better GPA. I have never really solo tutored anyone but I feel that I will be able to help in some sort of way. I have taken many science classes and I did very well in them. Also I did very well in English, social sciences, and history. I have also taken classes up through Accounting 4 and i am pretty good with business classes. I have helped in a Homework help lab and tutored kids having trouble in classes before so i have a little experience with helping students. I was a tutor for math and science while attending college. My work consists of graphing, defining requirements through mathematics, statistical analysis, and many other technical services. I have worked as a ventilation engineer, an industrial hygienist, and am currently a manager for a consulting company. My math skills brought me to Washington, D.C. to present a statistical analysis to the National Mining Association for comments to a proposed regulation. I believe that stepping through any problem and trying to find a "hint" to help work through similar problems will contribute to a student succeeding.

Can adapt to whatever way in which you need to learn. Associate of Science In Business Took Algebra 3 separate times in high school, just because I loved it so much, and did excellent in every class. Am currently attending USU to get my Bachelors in Business, have struggled with class registration, but if I start the class I always finish with a B or better.

I graduated Magna cum Laude with Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Resource Minor in 1990. I taught special eduction K-3 one year and K-6 for three other years where I restructured the special education program to bring it up to research based best practices. I supervised nine aids, three assigned to my classroom and six to individual students. I designed curriculum aligned with student IEP goals, collaborated with regular education teachers and related service providers, and monitored student progress. I have only two classes before earning my Master's Degree in Educational technology where I designed technology instructional units.
