My style of teaching/tutoring involves one on one and small group sessions. I feel we work from using the student’s strengths to build math vocabulary, math concepts, math relationships, developing math knowledge and algorithmic skills. I want the students to feel comfortable communicating using math to get help. I strongly believe that to understand math you have to put forth effort to try and do math. I want the learning environment to be relaxed and comfortable. Depending on what type of math and the concepts that need help different tutoring techniques will be used such as: building relationship, hands-on activities, and interactive virtual manipulatives. I am a senior in high school. I have taken a range of different classes and I am able to help students understand what is being taught. I helped many of my friends get better grades so that can graduate with a better GPA. I have never really solo tutored anyone but I feel that I will be able to help in some sort of way. I have worked as a ventilation engineer, an industrial hygienist, and am currently a manager for a consulting company.
