My comments on tutoring Poetry : I am a Cerftified High School English teacher. Poetry is and effective way to express thoughts and feelings.

I started working at JCPS as a substitute teacher in 2000 at a high-at-risk high school. I then becamse an Instructional Assistant III and was accepted into an accelerated program with JCPS and Ky. State University to complete the program in two years for my certification. I have taught at an at risk middle school for two years, and high school for the past six. I have also tutored for the SOAR after school program for the past seven years but with the cuts last year, the after school NCLB organization I worked for closed. THerefore, I am open for scheduling my own clients. I can provide many refereences of students parents that I tutored for more than one years consequtvely by request. A Little Bit About Me...

I started tutoring in 2009 through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. I tutor my "Little" for an hour once a week. I help with whatever subject they need. My specialty is Language Arts, but if you need help with basic math, I can do that too. I have observed many elementary, middle school, and high school classes. I know what works best, especially since I'm going to become a high school language arts teacher in a few years.
I'm patient. I'll try and make my lessons easy to understand. I know how frustrating language arts can be, but I also know how rewarding it can be as well. I can relate very easily to high school students, because I just graduated from high school 5 years ago.
