As a non-traditional student I was more mature when I returned to finish my degree than when I had originally gone to school. As a result I graduated Suma Cum Laude and was awarded the Competitive Graduate Award from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to begin my graduate education. Subsequently, I was awarded a teaching assistantship and have taught as a TA for the last two semesters in social statistics. A Little Bit About Me...

As a substitute teacher in the Bethalto school district, I feel I have been trained in all of the subjects necessary to tutor students. On a daily occurrence, I teach math, science, english, reading, social studies, etc. My specialties are english and reading. English was my minor in college and is something that has always been second nature to me. I was also a personal tutor for a child in the spring of '08 an fall of '08. His grades improved drastically from Ds and Fs, to Bs.
I have a very unique way of teaching. My key to success works on a system of discipline and rewards. I find creative ways to make the most mundane tasks fun to accomplish. Over the past 12 years, I have worked in both the private and public sectors of the education community. I have taught grades 7-12 in all areas of science. I have also been the director of a learning center, where I started as a tutor. The years of experience have taught me a great deal about children of all ages and abilities.
