I love teaching & sharing new experiences in a creative way!

I was a natural born musician, started playing guitar at the age of 2. Later switched to piano and took formal lessons for 7 years. I have composed scores for several plays and small projects. I still compose music to this day. I gained an interest in French when I was in middle school. From there, I learned it very quickly and continued to build on it through making French films and going on a biking excursion in France. Mon voyage était formidable et j'ai appris beaucoup!
My teaching style is very open, free-flowing, interactive, and patient. I love to move beyond the theory and into the natural conversation or practice of it.

Served a 2-year french-speaking mission and am studying it at BYU. Have taken advances grammar classes and literature classes. I received the best grade in my grammar class. It is true that I took a couple years of high-school french but I mainly taught it to myself during my mission. I did serve with native companions so I spoke primarily French for months at a time. Also have done some French translating work.

I'm currently a BYU student studying Elementary Education. I will graduate with the TESOL and Dual Immersion French teaching endorsements. I have been studying French for 8 years and plan to teach in a French immersion school when I graduate. I have been volunteering as a classroom aid (in both English and immersion settings)for 5 years. I also lived in France for 10 months where I spent time teaching elementary aged students both in English and in French. I have a passion for the language and for teaching subject material through it.
I prefer to teach French the immersion way by speaking only French with your student and making the input comprehensible through gestures and actions.

I have two years of experience at an elementary school, and another year in high school level, on a boarding school, both in France. Concerning my teaching experiences , currently I’m working in three different places here in Puerto Rico. I work as French assistant at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. Also I’m French teacher at the Alliance Francaise and in a private school “Ecole Clef” too. I will be relocate in Utah this Monday June 8, 2015.
I use multiple methods of instruction such as gestures, repetition, body language, contextual clues, pictures and animation.

As a Mormon/LDS missionary I attended the LDS Mission Training Center and then spent 2 years in the Tokyo area. I studied and spoke Japanese daily. I taught a message in Japanese daily. Also I spoke to congregations in Japanese regularly. Following that time, 2004-2006, I studied at BYU (acclaimed for its language success). Here I have earned 20 credit hours of Japanese with an A- average. I am not fluent but I am very good.
I believe teaching is a noble profession. As a missionary I was a teacher for two years. There was a specified message about Jesus Christ and the incredible potential of mankind. Also, I taught English there weekly to natives (including a class for children only -- I made all curriculum up as we went).
