A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Development. However, before Human Development was my major, it was English Language. Through my four years at a major university, I have learned how to properly write research essays, what sources are credible for essays, and essay format. I also have had a pet-peeve for words that are incorrecly spelled and when there are grammatical errors in something professionally done.
I believe that children all come with different levels of cognition. Therefore, each child has their own learning pace. I like to give a child the time that he needs in order to accomplish his goal in learning. I have patience and am understanding--this would be a great benefit in working with children who need a little extra help in their studies.

I love math but feel that communicating through writing is very important. Building a good relationship with a child is key to helping them learn. When good relationships are developed children can then trust the teacher or tutor to help them in whatever way possible. Even students with great willpower do not learn very effectively when they are not interested in the material. I also teach with analogies and comparisons.
