A Little Bit About Me...

I am a one on one person when I teach or tutor. I homeschooled my son for one year before sending him to public school and found that to be quite rewarding. When I tutor a student, I like getting to know the student, their experiences and how their perceptions of topics that they will have to write about in the college arena. The reason is not solely for me to learn the student as an individual and help them specifically, but also to allow the student to learn more about themself so that they inevitably learn how to create definitve theses and write coherently. Before one can write well, they must understand the topics and how they perceive them.

I have a bachelor's degree in acturial science and have studied extensively for acturarial exams. My studies have enabled me to master both higher- and lower-level mathematics and statistics. My background in paid tutoring includes College Algebra, Elementary statistics and statistical methods, but I've also helped classmates understand physics and chemistry classes. While employed at the high school, I learned that not only does every child learn at a different rate, but what works for one, does not work for everyone.
