Younger students catch on very quickly to what it is I am teaching. If they don't catch on quick, then no problem. I'm very patient and never give up until a student understands the concept. I have just earned my TESOL certification and am looking forward to beginning teaching English. I have spent a majority of my life teaching in one form or another. My elementary school, Hamen Elementary, had a program in which good students could tutor mentally challenged students. I did that for three years. I also spent 8 years teaching martial arts and three years teaching dog training. I am also responsible for the majority of my younger brother's education. He is special needs and got expelled from kindergarten. He has since graduated. So I have a great deal of experience teaching students of all levels and abilities.
I'm pretty laid back. I like my students to make effort and hope to add a little fun in there but for the most part I expect my students to learn at their own pace and it doesn't matter how fast they move but they have to make effort.

I truly enjoy when I get the chance to work one-on-one with a student. I am the kind of teacher you will see sitting on the floor with a student, acting things out in front of the class, making up songs to go with the curriculum, and full of energy. I understand the difficulty that many children have when learning in a noisy, busy, and crowded classroom.
