Then, I establish a baseline of what they have learned so that I can direct my attention to their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, I get into the material with the student and show them how and why the material is important and applicable in the world in which we live.
I have served as a substitute teacher in Hayward, CA for 1 1/2 years. I worked as a tutor for Learning & Loving It in San Jose, CA for 3 years. From 1998-2003, I taught English and French at the University of Yaounde. From January 2004 to May 2009, I taught French and English at Pennington Jr. High in Indianola,MS. I spent the current school year with Sunflower County Schools as foreign language coordinator and as from August 2010, I will be working with Jackson Public Schools. I am also a faculty consultant with ETS and Mississippi Virtual Public School.
I prefer a participative and collaborative teaching style. This involves an active participation of the students. My role is limited to that of guide, facilitator, and helper.
