Throughout my college years I have been employed by two different after school programs for a combined amount of 6 years tutoring/teaching in public school after school programs. (Grades K-6) I also spent 2 months teaching full time 3rd and 4th grade after college prior to unfortunately being laid off due to financial losses in the school. I also tutored English in college through an Advanced English class I was placed in.
I have a passion and calling for working with children. From the time I was a child, I knew this is what I was meant to do. I believe children are the hope of our country, and that every child is capable of learning and expanding their knowledge. I tutored philosophy students for a year while in college. I earned a master's degree in early childhood education and taught second grade for two years. I also was a substitute teacher for grades K-8th. Currently, I am a motivational speaker and a mentor through United We Mentor.

I have over 10 years of experience as a substitute teacher and a regular full time classroom teacher. My first position was teaching Japanese Language to middle school students in Salinas. These were for the most part first generation Americans of Hispanic background. I also taught hands on science at a private school where the children were mostly from India or Asia. I also taught reading in an after school program for students who were reading slightly below grade level. I created all of my own materials.
