Hearing Impaired Tutors & Teachers for Lessons, Instruction or Help in Edmond, OK

I am a certified Sign Language interpreter and have interpreted for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students of all ages for the last 14 years. As part of my job description, I was a tutor to these same students. For the last 3 years, I had to take on the role of teaching to a middle school aged Deaf student due to lack of Deaf Education teachers for most of his academic day. I also have experience with Deaf and H of H students that had other disabilities such as: Low cognitive Ability, Blindness, Charge syndrome, Autism, Obstinate Defiance Disorder and Emotional Disability. Since I was very young I tutored my brother on many occasions in reading and math. I believe everyone has a gift, and I knew that teaching was that gift for me. I have a total of 15 years experience speaking, reading and writing Spanish. I am very familiar with the different Spanish language variants. I lived in Chile for almost two consecutive years, and studied in Costa Rica for a short time. My B.A. is in Anthropology and Spanish, and my M.S. is in International Studies. I currently teach at a local community college.
