I have only ever tutored my neighbors two daughters. They both benefitted from it and both of the girls grades went up. Most of the time I would help them with math ,but would also help in any subject they needed, and they would work on their homework as I watched and guided them in the correct direction. If they were truly lost I would reteach the section and try to relate it to something they would better understand. They seemed to enjoy having me over to help and I loved being able to help them when they needed it.
Normally I will watch as the student works and when they get stuck is when I would help them. If they do not understand the material I will go back and teach it again. Once they seem to get it I would give one or two practice problems just to be sure they understand completely. My comments on tutoring Algebra : Algebra is perhaps the most versatile and essential math class that a student can learn. It is by far the most important in moving forward whether in the real word or post secondary education.

I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. In addition, after school hours were spent with two students taking AP Biology classes. Both students achieved a 4 or higher on their placement exams. My comments on tutoring Algebra : I am in AP Calculus

I have all my students pick which area they are having the most trouble with. If they are unsure I create a evaluation test to asset their weak spots which will be our main focus. Then we review homework I go through each problem and teach them various ways of solving and give the importance of learning that specific skill. I also provide numerous practice problems ranging from easy to very difficult.
I am experienced in tutoring all math areas from elementary to high school level and some college level math. My specialty is elementary math and Algebra. I am involved in various clubs and have a GPA of 3.6. I plan on Majoring in finance once in college. I currently tutor some students at my school.
