A Little Bit About Me...

16 years dancing at Donna Scott School of Dance taking tap, jazz, ballet and lyrical. Accomplished many award winning performances for all styles at local and NYC competitions. I have performed in 13 musicals in 6 years, Dance Captain for 5 of those musicals, have taught multiple cast members tap dancing. I am also a proficient fine artist. Going for a degree in visual arts with a minor in dance at SUNY Fredonia.

A Little Bit About Me...

I genuinely enjoy helping all people, be it in the workplace or in the academic atmosphere. My teaching style is similar to my communication style - friendly and driven. When I sit down with a tutee, my goal is to guide them without giving the answers away. It is important for students to reach the sense of satisfaction that one gets when he or she solves a problem or overcomes an obstacle on their own. I will do the best I can to make sure students' needs are met in a positive way and with a positive outcome. My style may also vary according to the types of personalities I may be faced with. For example, if a tutee is more of a visual person who associated with diagrams and pictures, I would make sure to tackle any trouble areas - such as grammar - with an easy-to-read diagram that is also easy to remember.

In 2005 I graduated from Fredonia University with childhood education including a middle school extension in English. I completed my master's degree in Special Education from Medaille University in 2008. I hold a New York Certification in Childhood Education as well as English through grade 9. I have worked in many educational levels throughout the elementary and middle school. I spent 3 years as a teacher's aide in a pre-school setting. I spent a year as the academic intervention specialist in a elementary school. I have also spent 2 years as a general education teacher in the first grade. I am willing and capable to tutor any student in grades K-9.
