Working with people, particularly children, has always been a passion of mine. Through the psychology program at Husson College I was able to gain a better understanding of human interaction, interpersonal relationships, as well as to obtain further insight on the foundation of the cognitive wiring in which we all possess. I also have a 6 year old daughter, who I have found to be the key to my drive in watching all children achieve academic success. I think the process starts with parents but branches out into the world of educators, and truly is a battle that can be won as long as there is always a core group of people committed to each child's success in the classroom. My passion is the arts. I have explored a variety of areas including fibers, painting, drawing, 3-D, mixed media, collage, clay, graphic design, etc. Skills from all academic areas are used in the arts from math to history. An arts educaiton has been proven to increase learning in these areas and raise test scores. I was a K-8 art public education teacher for three years.
