I graduated from Sonoma State with a BA in English, Single subject emphasis. I am taking a year off before I go back to get my teaching credential in reading. A Little Bit About Me...

As a Biology student at both Saddleback and the ultra competitive UCLA, I was able to achieve high marks in all of the core cirriculum. Subjects I am very familar with are physics, chemistry, math up to 1st semester calculus, biology and biochem.I also recieved an A in every english class I have ever attended. I have experience tutoring at Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo Ca., mostly in math.
I enjoy working with kids and teaching the things that I have learned. I am confident that I can make concepts as simple as possible, so people who usually have trouble understanding ideas in math and science may have a breakthough. Coming from a very competitive school like UCLA I have acquired skills in test taking which are very valuable and I would like to pass these on to prospective college students.

I emphasize meaning in my instructional style. Rather than, say, inculcate a formula for comma us, I try to convey how comma use provides meaningful structure to an idea, i.e. the sentence. In the larger sphere of things, I believe in showing a student how a piece of literature--which may well include his or her own writing--is meaningful to himself. A Little Bit About Me...

I began tutoring as a volunteer in High School. I have since graduated Magna Cum Laude in less then 4 years earning two bachelor degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. I have recently finished my first year of law school in the top 30% of the class. My experience in Political Science, Philosophy, and law have set me apart in grammar, punctuation, and both formal and creative writing. I have most recently privately tutored a high school student in English, Literature, and Writing.
I realize that each student learns differently and thus should be approached differently. My teaching style is to exert patience and positive reinforcement for each style of learning.
