Versatile Hands-on Tutor for all Age ranges

Throughout my academic career, I have done in-class tutoring in exchange for credit. I have also helped my family members, neighbors, and friends to study, complete homework, and even do reports. My range of subjects is very versatile, anything from Oceanography, to Intercultural Communications, to Culinary Arts, and even 3D sculpture and design. Of course outside of these elective type courses, I have a 3.7 GPA in my general education, including Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in the Democratic approach to Educating the young. I start the year by asking the students what they would like to learn that year and we record this on a large sheet of paper. Students feel happy to know their wishes are so considered and then at the end of the year we review the list and they see that they have covered everything they wanted to learn and much more. I am seriously concerned with the self-esteem of each children and work to elevate this so that the children will be able to grow and achieve the most that they can while in my class. I love children and I love teaching.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that our children hold the future of our world in their hands and hearts and for this reason I have a deep desire to assist them in learning all of their subjects as well as they can. My approach is democratic in that I ask the child for his/her input on what they like to study and learn too. Finding out a childs loves is important for a teacher. An example is: Going to the library to find books for students to read because it is something they enjoy as well as doing their assigned class work. I love working with students. As a teacher I enjoy the learning process and love watching the students discover new concepts and ideas. As as school counsleor I assisted students in working at their emotional and challenging behaviors. In both positions I strongly believe each student has the potential to learn. I teach to the different learn styles of my students.
When I was working as a secretary I knew I wanted to further my education. I returned to school and completed my bachelor of science in education.
