I love teaching and learning. I grew up going to Montessori schools and truly believe that everyone is capable of learning its just finding the right way to teach that person--not all students can be boxed into a simple blanket method of teaching. I have found this to be true thru the collegiate levels. As a teaching assistant in college, I had to go thru extensive training to learn how best to teach each type of learner. I was employed by the Interior Design department at FSU to teach undergraduate courses, being an instructor of record for the inital course for the department, Design Fundamentals. I have a passion for teaching and learning- it runs in the family as my husband is a middle school science and math teacher. Our parents are lifelong edcuators in Wakulla County. Now that I have earned my Master's degree I would like to continue that family tradition.
I believe that while students may forget specifics of what they are learning, they will never forget how teachers make them feel. I also belive that the best teachers are the ones that make themselves less needed the longer they teach specific studdents.
