I have over 12 years work experience in several areas. I have been teaching health science on a college level for 3 years. In the health science setting a teach a variety of areas such as medical terminology, biology, introduction to health careers, introduction to health occupations, and college introduction. I train pharmacy technicians as well as educate them on a variety of areas such as calculations, basic communication skills, basic reading skills, and grammar. I have experience with tutoring students of all ages and many areas. Some of the areas I have tutored in are biology, medical terminology, geography, writing skills, basic study skills, success skills, health science, and basic calculations. I do have experience with students who have learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, and hyperactivity.

My main goal is not to tell a student they are wrong, but to tell them how they can make the answer correct. Being that my mother is a teacher, I have picked up many of her techniques while tutoring in the peer tutoring program at my college. I believe that it helps a student more if they can be taught by someone who has a similar background to them and are similar in age. I can provide them with an easy way to learn biological concepts just as I've learned while I am in college. As a senior at Benedict College obtaining my B.S. in Biology, I have gained a better understanding of the study of biology as well as other science-related subjects and math. I have been a part of the Peer-Tutoring program at Benedict since I was a freshman and have tutored in the subject of Biology.
