A Little Bit About Me...

When helping others, I do it two ways. I tell them how to do it and guide them through it. Other times, I show them how to do it. However, I do not do it for them. I would love to have the chance to help children succeed in their education! It would be an honor!
I graduated high school in 2000 with a local diploma and then went on to college at Utica School of Commerce. I graduated in 2002 with an Associated Degree as an Administrative Specialist. I have worked at a few different jobs and just went back to college again at Utica School of Commerce and got my certificate degree as a Medical Office Assistant.

I believe that there is no such thing as one size fits all teaching. Every student learns in a different way, at a different pace, and much of the fun for me in the process of teaching is improvisation: discovering which methods work best for each student. I believe foremost in teaching students to take responsibility for their own learning: I will teach how to learn, and I will try to develop a student's passion for a subject, but I expect students to work toward their own development. As a teacher I am patient and empathetic and if one explanation is not sufficient, I have no problem trying more. I believe learning doesn't have to be difficult or boring. I am 20 years old. I graduated from high school with honors. I was in advanced english. I also graduated with honors from Madison-Oneida BOCES. I am currently in college for Business Management, and I am also studying Psychology. When I finish I want to work with teenagers. Everyone goes through a hard time when they are teenagers, and I believe I can help. I have an older brother who was struggling through high school, and I helped him to graduate.
