A Little Bit About Me...

Individualization is an important part of my teaching style. I think it is important to identify what the student needs to work on and present it in a way the student can grasp the concept and enjoy learning. The student has to enjoy learning to succeed. I try to present material in such a way that the student will find it interesting and use different techniques to help them remember what they have learned. I also use the pre-teaching/re-teaching strategy. The student doesn't feel overwhelmed with the newly presented material, more confident to participate in class, more willing to ask a question, and is more successful with class work and homework assignments.

As a high honor student at LeMoyne College I have earned a bachelor's degree in Arts and Science. I majored in Psychology and Minored in Elementary Education. I am certified k-6 in Elementary Education. I earned my Masters Degree in Special Education at LeMoyne College as well. I am certified for grades k-12 in the are of Special Education.

Through the years, I have learned how important language and english is in our community; in result, I have a bachelors degree in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style will vary depending on the class as a whole or the type of student I am working with individually. In order to be an effective teacher I have seen that I need to be flexible with how I present material to a student. If a student is visual I am able to create diagrams and use props to show a concept rather than only speak the material. Some students need hands on and things like manipulatives in math help create a concrete way to remember a concept, and this is also something I do. In my mind success as a teacher is largely based on the success of the student and I am able to figure out what a specific child needs and adjust my teaching style to that student.
