A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style changes based on how the student has been taught previously and I will try different methods to see what will work best for the individual. I know all students learn differently so I may take a direct method where we will go over the facts and jump straight into the material. Another method will be re-examining the material and finding what the student already knows and how that student normally studies.
Currently I have been working in Elementary School in the Fall River School Department. I have been placed in grades Pre-Kindergarten to Fifth grade. During my Doctoral candidate years, I worked as both a engineering lecturer and laboratory instructor for 3 different engineering fields. The fields were circuit design, applied mathematics and practical laboratory equipment usage. I also gave lectures in Applied Optics (physics) for Seniors at Clarkson University during my last Doctoral year (1984-85) at campus.
Informal for large groups as I wanted the students to see me as like them, but with enough capability to inspire them to listen. I learned early on you cannot make anybody learn anything. You must inspire them to want to learn. At the 1-on-1 setting (tutoring level), I work at a very detailed level with the particular student I have with me at the time. Each one is sufficiently different to warrant different teaching approaches to maximum effect and retention.
