I was an Instructional Assistant/SH for the Tulare County Office of Education (TCOE). I'm now an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter, when needed. I worked for TCOE for over 17 years. I tutor people of all ages in math, English, music, ASL, and more! I am now a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the developmentally disabled adults. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemisty with a minor in statistics. As an undergraduate, I tutored middle-schoolers in science and math as a volunteer at a local school. My motto is one that I adapted from my high school, which is learn by doing. Most students aren't auditory learners, so if I simply spout off a bunch of facts or a mathematical process, then chances are they won't learn anything. After laying the foundation first, the best method of learning is for the student to actually do it themselves.
