My desire is not to simply communicate information to students, but to accommodate material in such a way so that each individual student can learn a way that is easy and hopefully enjoyable. I started teaching Sunday School when I was in Junior High. I taught a little boy in my class how to read and it was the most rewarding experience I have ever encountered. As aforementioned, throughout high school, I began tutoring students in Math, English, Spanish, Science, and History. I tutored one 6th grade student who was ADHD. He had several tutors before me, but none had the patience to work with him. I started tutoring him and fell in love with this particular child. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Physical Science from California State University, Fresno. I received my first teaching experience as a substitute teacher. I next worked as a long-term substitute teacher for a year. I was then offered a full-time, permanent teaching position as a fourth grade elementary school teacher. This position lasted three years.
