I am a very patient person who understands that the best way to teach someone anything is to find out how they learn. My goal is to help others be confident about what they do know and to not be afraid to ask questions about what they don't know. If I can't teach someone anything, I will find someone who can. I will attempt to tutor from any angle necessary so that my student has the opportunity to be successul at their struggling subject matter. I will always be very supportive through the learning process and available anytime of the day or night for questions and immediate assistance. As a child, I entered the gifted program very young and have always tutored my peers. Tutoring led me to join the Quiz Bowl and other Academic Teams as well as led me to graduate high school early. I love working and teaching children of all ages. Every child has the potential to be A students, but each child may learn in different ways. I will use different modalities or styles of learning to best fit each child. I am a very patient and outgoing person. I believe in respect of the child and teacher alike. I am more of a permissive teaching approach, where I want to become someone your child looks up to but does not need to depend on for every answer or situation. I have a passion for teaching. I beleive it was what I was born to do. I believe learning can be fun and stress free. I am patient, easy going and a "friend" to my students. I beleive all children can succeed if given the proper tools. I am a Marshall University student and Adjunct Faculty member. I have earned a bachelor degree in Communications Studies with a minor in Public Relations. In 2006, I received a Master's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Oral Speaking. Presently, I am two semesters away from an Ed.S. in Higher Education with hopes of entering the doctorate program next fall. I have taaught a variety of levels of Communication courses at Marshall University, MCTC, and Huntington Junior College.

As an undergraduate I tutored in the help center of WVSU. My last semester I had to choose between Biology and Chemistry, due to a schedule conflict, and I chose Chemistry. After graduating, I worked toward my PhD at Montana State University for two years. I worked my way through teaching labs, and completed 19 credit hours, before I had to move home for family reasons. I also worked in the help center during the day and held weekly study groups in the evenings. I believe that there are no boring subjects, only boring teachers. I teach so others may learn to find interest. My heart races when I help someone learn. We are always learning, and I will always be a student. I am able to relate to people on that level, regardless of subject level. No one is born knowing this stuff, we learn through life. To teach is to learn. It must be nice to teach to teach. This is my goal.
