I am hands on. I personally learn best from things like powerpoints and handouts. This is also the way I tend to teach others. I am a high school senior in the AP/Honors program at Warner Robins High School. I have two little sisters who I have tutored since they began school. On average, they have scored higher on tests when I have helped, particularly in the area of social studies. I have also helped multiple students at my school. The average that they score on a test is typically ten points higher than when they study by themselves and, in some cases, twenty points if the student does not study at all. What I have learned working with students is that many do not learn in the same manner. I beleive in what is called top process learning. Given the student a concept and allowing them to explore the possibilities of how one arrives at such a concept has allowed deeper critical thinking and strategic planning.
