It is very important to let children know that there is no wrong or right way of doing their work, as long as it is done correctly. They also need to know that their methods are their own. Children needs reassurance. When A childs' work is not done to one's full potential, it is not my strategy to make them feel like less of a child. It is however, my strategy to work with that child until he/she understands WHY the work was not done correctly, and then let him/her correct the work themself. This in my opinion, lets a child know that we believe in him/her. That is the most important lesson a child can learn. That they are their own person and that they all have the potential to achieve the goals set for them.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher there is nothing more rewarding than the look on a child's face when a skill is mastered or a mystery becomes an understood concept. This is what attracted me to the field of education and what has kept me here. I am also fully aware that each student does not reach this level of mastery by following the same path. I believe one of my greatest strengths as a teacher is to be able to change this path for each student. I am aware of the different ways children learn, and seek to incorporate examples of these learning styles into each lesson.
