My comments on tutoring Reading : I specialize in Dyslexia and use the Barton Reading & Spelling System. This program is Orton-Gillingham Influenced and was designed for Dyslexic students. However, it is benefical for other learning disabilities as well.

After graduating with my Bachelors Degree, I worked in a Residential Treatment Center for abused children for two years. One year of this experience took place in a classroom setting to assist teachers with behavior issues. Upon receiving my California Teaching Credential, I worked in California public schools teaching in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. I know that as a student I would hear one explanation that all of a sudden made things so clear and seem so simple. I try to find this for every individual student.
