I have completed training over engaging difficult students and I have also learned more innovative techniques in which to use when engaging students who are trying to achieve more challenging skills. I designed a program called Math Mates, which was an after school intervention program for students who needed more hands on time for learning, I opened the program up for all students but set aside certain days when specific students were invited so we could use more hands on manipulative and we worked on the different content standards.

My approach to composition is simple; think, write, repeat. This means that I use a process-oriented method as students draft and re-draft based upon the new ideas and insights which are gained through the practice of writing. I also employ post-process pedagogy, encouraging student participation in the world around them. I want them to engage with the private and public spheres. I come from a family of teachers and now I too would like to join this profession. I worked as a volunteer teacher for one year, teaching music to grades K-8 and mathematics to students in fourth grade. I have two and a half years of experience as an assistant teacher to Kindergarteners, second grade students, and adult ESL students at a University level.
