I had no intention of teaching when I started my career in Psychology and the Analytical Chemistry industry. I continuously tried to improve my methadology to arrive at the right mix of stimulation and information to make the learning process as interesting as possible. Teaching the Physics of Xrays and chemical analysis does challenge one to keep assessing the learned content and modify as results indicate. The results of effective teaching and learning start with asking questions about the purpose of the instructions, how will the results of the learning be measured, and what is educational level of the students? I believe that students can reach their potential if they are given the tools that they need. My job is to be the toolbox for them. As a special education teacher, I adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of the students. I believe that a child should be given a vast amount of positive reinforcement and always be spoken to and taught with respect. I enjoy working with children. My theory of teaching is using the multiple intelligence theory. I believe that all children have the capacity to learn but in their own way. I like to incoporate different styles of learning in a lesson. I also like to incorporate hands on activities, because I believe that doing is learning.
I have been working with children from K-12 grade since 2001. I was part of the Math Academy in 2002. I have been subsituting in grades K-8 since 2009. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and helping all children. I am a strong believer that all children can be taught all subjects, and should be given the opportunity to do just that. I am always willing to teach the child, in the best way that will help them, whether this be through explanation, or through a hands on approach. Children are our future, and should be given the opportunities to learn.
Throughout my life, I have always felt very strong about achieving a high level of education. As a older sibling to a child that had a learning disability, I felt it was my responsiblity to help him achieve a high school diploma. From the age of six years old to his senior year in high school, I tutored my brother in all subjects, from math and english to electives.
