I try to identify the student's strengths and weaknesses and work out a program to help him or her achieve his or her goals. I also like to involve the parents or guardians as much as possible to keep them updated on the student's progress and how they can contribute to the learning process. From what I have observed as a substitute teacher at different schools, some teachers have a lot of subject knowledge but lack the teaching skills to get the most out of the students.
