A Little Bit About Me...

I have currently worked at the Herkimer ARC for the past eight years. I have alot of experience working with people with disabilites from severe Mental Retardation, Cerebal Palsy,Autism, Learning Disability and Mental Heath. I have obtained a degree from Herkimer College in applied science with a minor in education. I also went to Mohawk Valley Community College for two years to obtain a degree in Nursing. I am a very caring open individual who loves to help people. I am looking for part time employment to start a college fun for my three year old daughter. I have years of experience training new employess at the Herkimer ARC.
I am a hands on teacher. I can verbally explain things and then i like to utilize different techniques to ensure the children understand what i am explaning. I am opening to different teaching styles because each child learns differently.

Before having children I worked as an teacher's aide at the local pre-school, working with 3-5 year-olds. After that I became a teacher's aid for the local middle school, working with children that were not allowed to go to regular classes due to their behavior. My main job was to show them how to write essays, reports, papers, etc. I also worked with their families as well and I loved it.
Working with children of all ages has taught me just how important education is. Reading and writing is especially important and they will need it in their everyday life. A Little Bit About Me...

Having completed my B.A. in Mathematics, with a minor in adolescent education, a Computer Science degree, and graduating with a 3.65 GPA, and a 4.0 in content has fueled my success. Combining that with presently finishing my Masters in Teaching with Technology, three years of teaching mathematics and 5 years of tutoring experience, in which I tutored several subjects I feel that I have a lot to add to the success of students. To go along with my education, I have completed several science courses as well as Spanish courses.
