Becoming a teacher has been one of my life's passions. I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Adolescent Education and Mathematics and am currently working on a Master of Arts degree in Education, Curriculum, Instruction, and Mathematics. I have experience in teaching an array of mathematics classes from 7th grade Math up to Calculus and College Algebra. I also have skills in literacy and writing due to the extensive time and effort I have put in for my masters program. Along with 7 other students, I was directly hired out of college to teach 7th grade English. Along with my 4 years of Latin experience, it increased my abilities in the grammatical aspect of the English language. I also tutored college students while I was attending in first yr Latin and math. I took 4 yrs of French in high school, graduated Shenendehowa in 1974. I enjoy working with kids in small groups or one on one. I am a mother of 11 children, the youngest is now 7. I also believe I could assist a first year algebra student or younger.
I love and respect all children and try to meet them where they are. I am very perceptive at times and don't give up easy. If one thing doesn't work, I'd try another. I believe in good education that develops the person, not just prepare them to contribute to society and to make a living.

A Little Bit About Me...

As an Honors Student at Utica College, and as a past tutor, I feel very comfortable in the teaching setting. My long term goal is to enter the doctorate program at Syracuse University so that I may teach at the college level in the future. My BS in accounting with CPA concentration has given me the knowledge and skills that would allow me to be an excellent tutor in the specific area. In the last five years, I have tutored math, accounting, macro and micro economics. As a recent college graduate, I understand the difficulties that students face when they confronted with a subject that proves difficult for them to master. In the past five years of my college education I have also mastered the art of writing effective term and research papers using proper citation styles.
