I attended a liberal arts college to give myself a totality of learned and a well rounded education. I majored in Music performance with a minor in math. In addition I worked in the biology labs gaining experience in the sciences. I graduated with honors ( cum Laude)
My teaching style is to guide the student to find the answers for himself rather than outright giving it away. I try to teach the method of discovery and critical thinking the allows the student to excel. I love seeing students "getting it". the approach is different with each students but the goal is the same. -helping the student suceed and growing in the learning process.

I always attempt to explain the beauty of mathematics to my students in hopes that they will develop the same admiration of the logic and order of mathematics and science. My tutoring will generally involve a brief explanation of theory and background, followed by one or two fully worked examples (if applicable). Then exercise problems or homework questions will be worked by the student. I encourage students to memorize the procedure of a solution. However, I always ensure that the student understands why steps are being taken in a given solution, and is not simply blindly following a solution procedure. A Little Bit About Me...

As a student in Health Science, i.e. Medical Technology, I worked in a genetics laboratory for 14 years learning lab instrumentation, trouble-shooting, cytogenetics and professional etiquette. Lectures as well as public presentations of newly discovered genetic abnormalities was my passion. I truly enjoyed preparing and presenting these exciting talks. I believe that in order for students to obtain knowledge, they must develop some level of interest in the subject. As a teacher, I try to understand the student's mind in order to present the material in such a way that it will fit together with the student's preexisting knowledge. If a student is passionate about sports or video games, I try and use examples and metaphors from those respective areas within the lessons.
