Hearing Impaired is one of my top subjects! I am a teacher for the Deaf for sevral years in the East and moved here 7 years ago and I am teaching at school for the Deaf.

I started my teaching experience when I got a job as a subsitute teacher at school for the Deaf in Ontario, Canada. I loved it so much and I went to university to get my degree in Criminology and Sociology and got masters in Deaf Education and Recreation. I used to be a subsitute teacher at Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C. and got a job as a teacher at Maryland School for the Deaf. I moved here 7 years ago and work here at California School for the Deaf as a teacher. ASL Teaching experience: I taught ASL at McDaniel College for a semester. A Little Bit About Me...

My belief is based upon the idea that all children are different and consequently, they learn differently. I have been taught how to approach those of ESL backgrounds, a multitude of handicaps, and learning disabilities, just to name a few. For instance, every once in a while, a child will take too long to copy notes off of the board or doesn't understand directions that well. For istances like this, I write down notes and tape them to their desks, provide additional coaching and prompts, or even modify assignments.
