I was always interested in the Spanish language. My family had a Spanish housekeeper. She was like a grandmother and why I chose to take Spanish. Then I had a Spanish teacher who encouraged me to continue learning and I did. I studied a semester abroad in Costa Rica and lived there for 2 years, immersing myself in the language and becoming more fluent. To live down there I became certified in teaching English as a foreign language. During my 2 years in Costa Rica I worked for many institutes teaching students of varying ages and ability levels. Upon returning to the USA I was hired by Southwestern Community College and worked for 3 years as a part time ESL instructor.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching very much. I am a very patient person and more than teaching the students I like helping them figure things out by themselves. I always try to create "real life" situations for them to use the knowledge acquired instead of making them solve abstract operations.
I have a BS in Cybernetics Engineering. As an engineer, my knowledge of math and physics is high. As a student I solved so many operations involving calculus that I memorized the formulas and used them as fast as the multiplication tables. I am a native Spanish speaker. I was trained as a language teacher by Berlitz, one of the best language centers in the world. I have a certificate in Drama. I worked for a private elementary school as a drama teacher for 2 years.
