A Little Bit About Me...

As a history major at Western I had to read many books and an accelerated rate. Also being an English minor I gained analytical and grammatical skills to help better understand pieces of literature I had to read and I can pass those skills to other students.
I have a laid back teaching style, within the next year I plan to get my MAT so I can teach in NC. I believe that this will help me reinforce some of my teaching skills that I will use from everyday basis.

My teaching style varies greatly depending on the needs of the student; however, I always try to meet the student first and then decide which approach will be the most effective. My philosophy of teaching revolves around the theory that a tutor or teacher's primary role is to support the student so that each problem can be solved by the student. It is also important to me to apply the subject at hand to the life of the student so that concepts hold meaning in an individuals life. I have worked primarily in the utility industry, with short periods of employment in the aluminum industry and semiconductor industry.
