I have studied Spanish for over ten years and German for over five years. I have a BA from UCF in foreign language combination. I was a teacher's assistant for a second grade class in 1990 at Winegard Elementary School. I was a hearing-impaired interpreter at a YMCA youth camp for one week in 1990 at Tallahassee. For my last employer, I interpreted Spanish, German, and sign language for cast members and guests on a daily basis for almost 16 years. Additionally, I have tutored math, reading, and spelling for my nieces and nephews at the elementary level. I challenge students to overcome their difficulties and do not allow them to persist repeatedly in ignorance and misunderstanding. Rather, I require my students to learn and extensively practice even the most basic concepts until they are no longer problems, and this allows the students to move on to more complicated concepts, but, as needed, I patiently explain any concepts that are unclear. I remedy errors in morphology by requiring repetition of the correct forms, and by requiring the students to convert certain words into their other forms, reinforcing the various attributes of each form. I also make sure each sentence is read and understood in the order in which the sentence is written so that it can be understood as it is written. I graduated from the University of South Alabama with an Elementary Education degree in December of 2005. During this time, I completed my student teaching at Holloway Elementary School. During the year of student teaching, I learned to work with diverse learning styles, varying stages of development as well as a multitude of learning tools. I enjoy working with children of all ages.
