I am a Pre-K teacher. I have taught for about 13 years all levels. This includes SPED and I really enjoyed the field. I have learned more working with teachers and students that have made a stronger regular educational teacher. I also have tutored grades K-8th in reading, math, study skills, and Beginning Reading K-3 rd. I have also, coordinated and tutored with SES Programs for about four years grades K-8th. I have went in the home, public places and in the schools. I have enjoyed all my learning experiences witht the families and I enjoy learning from my different communities.
I am a hands-on teacher and I believe in individualizing for all y students only because they all learn at different levels.

I am very passionate about educating others and have used my two Education degrees (Bachelor’s and Master’s) to work with students of all levels, especially in math. In my three years of full-time teaching experience, I have taught 6th grade math, 8th grade math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Trigonometry, and AP Calculus. Additionally, I have two years of experience tutoring elementary students in reading and writing, as well as volunteering many hours to help run educational programs for elementary through college age students.

As a strong advocate of public education, I believe in supporting our educational system. I have been told my effectiveness as a substitute teacher was the result of my respect for the students and my unshakable calmness and patience. Even as a sub, I enjoyed encouraging a love of learning in the students and a sense of curiosity. I also believe that each student has the capacity to work toward achievable goals. After receiving my BS I taught high school English for nine years in Vermont and Massachusetts. I earned my MED in 1985 and served as an administrator at both the high school and elementary school levels. I've taught emotionally disturbed children and middle school ESL students in Santa Fe. Most recently I have been tutoring elementary students in language arts and math. For the past five years I've also tutored language arts and math to 1st grade through middle school students after school.
My teaching style is to make learning fun. I like to bring materials to the lesson that match a student's interest and still build necessary skills. My middle school students became experts at poetry and grammar with daily competitions. Practice is imperative to learning, is my theory, and the key to the success I've had with students.
